Die 200 besten Alben der Achtziger wenn es nach Pitchfork geht

Ich war noch nie der Meinung, dass die 80er musikalisch schlecht gewesen sind. Schließlich wurde das Jahrzehnt im Pop maßgeblich von Prince, Michael Jackson und Madonna geprägt. Außerdem nahm HipHop, also die Musikrichtung die heute alles dominiert, in den 80ern richtig Fahrt auf. Und natürlich gab es in den 80ern noch The Smiths, The Cure, Metallica, Nirvana und, und, und. So schlecht kann das Jahrzehnt also gar nicht gewesen sein.

Die Kollegen von Pitchfork haben erneut (die erste Liste stammt von 2002) eine Liste mit den ihrer Meinung nach besten 200 Alben der Achtziger veröffentlicht. Als Prince Fan kann ich sehr gut mit der Liste leben, dennoch bin ich überrascht darüber, „Purple Rain“ auf Platz 1 zu sehen. In der alten Liste belegen übrigens „Daydream Nation“ von Sonic Youths, „Remain in Light“ von den Talking Heads und „Paul“™s Boutique“ von den Beastie Boys“™ die Plätze 1-3.
