Heute jährt sich der Tod von Adam Yauch bereits zum 5. Mal. DJ David Latte aus Australien ehrt MCA und die Beastie Boys, die seit dem Tod von MCA ebenfalls Geschichte sind, mit einem sehr schönen Live-Mix.
On the 4th of May 2012 I awoke to the very sad news that Adam Yauch (MCA) had lost his battle with throat cancer. The news hit me pretty hard, I felt numb, the Beastie Boys had been a huge part of me growing up, we were young outspoken louts together, we were into funk and soul samples together and we eventually matured into musically open minded reasonably well behaved responsible adults together (albeit on opposite sides of the globe). So when I heard the news I ventured out to my studio and pressed record on this mix, it was done from all vinyl (with the exception of the 2nd track) and live without editing. If you were already a Beastie Boys fan I hope this brings back some great memories, and if you were not I hope this helps you become one!

Das Mural von MCA habe ich übrigens am 1. Todestag beim mural space 5 Pointz in Queens, New York City aufgenommen. Das Graffiti-Zentrum wurde wenige Monate später abgerissen.
